Despite no plans for localization, the game was popular enough that retailers like Best Buy imported a few copies for hungry Shonen Jump fans who didn't want to order it online. The fighting games were big hits in Japan and emulated a Super Smash Bros. In fact, Nintendo was responsible for the crossover with Jump Super Stars on the Nintendo DS in 2005 and its sequel Jump Ultimate Stars a year later. ![]() Longtime Nintendo fans will note that they've seen this kind of crossover before.
